Rare representation of this saint from Eastern France, also named Saint Ageric because he was born in a wheat field where his mother worked, not far from Verdun. He became the 9th bishop of this city at the age of 34 and died in 588 after having spent his life teaching and relieving the poor. His attribute is the barrel, an allusion to one of his miracles when he blessed a barrel whose wine began to flow freely in order to quench the thirst of the Frankish warriors accompanying Childebert II during the visit of the king of Austrasia to his bishopric.
