Art Deco Style Blue Green Glass Bowl centerpiece Catchall, Murano Italy, Vintage 1950s
A beautiful centerpiece made of green and blue colored Murano glass. The shape, full of soft curves and rounded tips, fascinates with its incomparable, elegant plasticity and lightness. It was made with the "submerged" glass technique, a process used in the glassblowers of Murano to create art glass. It combines different shades while hot by immersing the glass blown by a master glassblower with a special rod in crucibles of different colors. Cobalt oxide was used for the blue color and copper oxide for the green color. At this point, the master managed to make the solid block of glass delicate and almost opaque by turning it, working it with pliers and modeling it by hand to give it the desired shape. A beautiful piece for any room.
